Amelia J. Rideau broadens Genesis Companies serving as new Legal Executive
As Genesis Companies continues to grow, we’re excited to welcome Amelia J. Rideau as our new Chief Legal Officer. Amelia joins our team with extensive experience supporting affordable housing and economic development transactions, and her expertise will help Genesis further our mission to provide our communities with the best possible product.
Prior to joining us, Amelia served as In-House Senior Counsel to The PNC Financial Services Group, where she supported several business units including the Bank’s M&A Group and its Alternative Investment Group which provides direct equity and mezzanine investments to private middle market companies. In that role Amelia also supported Community Development Banking’s equity investments which included Opportunity Zone financing and public welfare investments. She also supported PNC’s investments in Low Income Housing Tax Credits, New Markets Tax Credits and Historic Tax Credits, as well as the financing of affordable and market rate housing projects utilizing forms of federal credit enhancements, such as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA programs.
Earlier in her career, Amelia was a Member of New Jersey-based McManimon, Scotland & Baumann, LLC, where she worked primarily on housing and economic development transactions. In her housing practice, Amelia represented developers and housing authorities in connection with the development and financing of affordable and market rate housing projects where she utilized forms of federal, state and municipal financial assistance, including Low Income Housing Tax Credits, tax exempt bonds, federal credit enhancements and conventional financing.
In her spare time, Amelia also serves on the Board of Trustees of the York Street Project, a provider of early childhood development, supportive housing and permanent affordable housing for parents and children. We look forward to expanding our services with Amelia’s help.
